An 85-year-old Carinthian, who had burned himself last Sunday in Hermagor with lamp oil, died in hospital from the consequences of his severe burns, it was said today on the part of the Provincial Police Directorate of Carinthia.

The man had tried to light a grave lamp at his home, spilling some of the oil over his body. In the shower he tried to extinguish himself. His brother had alerted the emergency services.
