At midday on January 1, the body of a 33-year-old Bosnian citizen residing in Klagenfurt was found in the St. Ruprecht district of the city. After the police had initially suspected death by influence of narcotics, it is now certain: The man, who had been found dead by his girlfriend, actually died by a drug overdose. This was confirmed by the autopsy, which was ordered after a criminal police coroner’s inquest. Thus, the 33-year-old is the first drug-related death in Carinthia in 2023.

What drugs were involved, as well as the general circumstances of the death will be the subject of further investigations, as confirmed by the Provincial Criminal Police Office.
