The Villach resident had just been cutting meat with a knife at 10 a.m. Tuesday when the terrible accident occurred. “While moving a larger piece of meat, he slipped with his hand and stabbed himself in the left eye with the knife,” it says on the part of the police.

Because the man had sustained the most serious injuries, the rescue helicopter was requested and the 31-year-old was flown to the eye department at Klagenfurt Hospital.
